The largest Agami Heron rookery in Costa Rica
The Agami Heron is a rare and elusive bird that is sought by birdwatchers from around the world. In May of 2025, a new rookery has been discovered in northern Costa Rica where it's possible to see hundreds of these remarkable birds up close as they build nests and rear their young.
Our Mission
When we purchased this amazing property in 2025, our goal was conservation and restoration of this critical wetland habitat. With the discovery of this large rookery of Agami Heron, this objective is even more important.
Our primary objective is to keep this area wild and provide a safe sanctuary for the Agami Heron and other critical species found here.
